Poet Preaches Passionate Pedagogy

OK, cheesy title aside…I’m really excited about this guy: Taylor Mali, a slam poet and educator. I have a past life as a poet and comedian and am currently an educator too. I have always drawn on these past experiences, but Taylor has inspired me to go even further! I love passionate people. Here are some of his poem videos:

“Totally Like Whatever”

“What Teachers Make”

“The the Impotence of Proofreading”

“Miracle Workers”

“Where is Your Favourite Place to Write?”

Mesmer Collective

MCSpoken

Just discovered these guys from my incoming links. I love this quote in their ‘About’ page:

This might be a good time to let you know that you occasionally speak in a language we don’t understand, then your eyeballs roll up into your head, and you start to drool. Then you snap out of it and pretend like nothing happened. We would have told you earlier, but we discovered that when one smokes the drool, it makes one hallucinate.

I presume it is their own words and not a quote from someone else. Otherwise, kudos to the Mesmer Collective for an interesting site and sounds…

Check them out
