Awards

  • 2018 Teaching and Learning Award, National SAE Staff Excellence Awards, SAE Creative Media Institute

Christy has been integral in the development of the Master of Creative Industries program. Student feedback for her modules has been overwhelmingly – and consistently – positive. Christy was also central to development of SAE’s Remote Practice framework and subsequent training for SAE Faculty. In assessing each of the applications for this award, it was important to understand the inherent difficulty in developing such an initiative. Although remote practice is becoming more prevalent in the creative industries, very few organisations can claim to do it well, and its effective application in education is even more rare. Not only was Christy able to develop an innovative and supportive pedagogical model for remote practice, but she was also able to effectively deliver this training to SAE staff and students – providing a truly innovative and cutting edge program which is ahead of the game. The delivery of the training has continued to evolve based on constant reflection of Christy’s teaching methodology, informed by feedback from her students and her peers.”
