eParticipation & Cross-Media

I found Chris’ blog on eParticipation through a referral (he linked to me), but it looks interesting.

One of my core interests is how the convergence of communication media will impact the way eParticipation projects are shaped in the future. Little research has been done on this, that’s why I’m closely following other fields, where the art and science of crossmedia interaction design is more advanced.

His thesis on public crossmedia particpation through two case-studies is online, but it is only in German at this stage. I look forward to reading more about your research Chris. 🙂

Me in the Sacramento Bee!

A few weeks ago I was interviewed by a journalist for the Sacramento Bee newspaper. The article, Beyond the Box: Games, Role-Playing, Virtual Worlds: TV goes interactive on the Web, was written by Rachel Leibrock and features quotes from Matt Bostwick of MTV (who I’ve posted about recently) and Tim Stevens. It is funny what journalists choose to quote you on and how they weave it into the context, but it is cool to be quoted.

Their Circular Life

I just came across this lovely site that was actually uploaded (I believe) in 2004, but began in 2001. The photojournalism site, created by Lorenzo Fonda and Davide Terenzi, shows various locations over a 24hour period. It has an intro that helps set the mood:

“Humans are all equal. They have the same needs. They feel, act and behave accordingly to an unknown law. Urban places know this well. By living the life of urban infrastructure, you become an external observer of what happens everyday in every place on earth.”
