Periodic Table of Visualization Methods

I love visualizations. In fact, I’m been working on some for cross-media entertainment. What I want to do isn’t asking much: to create software that shows the relationships between texts, that is also a database interface and a media player interface. So, if you’re keen to work on such a project, tell me. But in the meantime, here is funny and clever visualization:

  1. Great visualization!

  2. That periodic table is just a wow of both imagination and useful analysis, isn’t it?

For “software that shows the relationships between texts, that is also a database interface and a media player interface” I’d say that 3D Topicscape – http://www.topicscape.com – is two thirds of the way there. It shows information organized by topic (mindmapping-style) but in 3D, and has a relational database behind it to keep all the metadata. No media player, but double-clicking on an item can autostart your favorite player.

  3. Yes it is a great visualization!

Roy, thankyou for coming by and recommending Topicscape — I’ll definately check it out. :)
