New Media Educators

Last year I was commissioned by RealTime Magazine to interview New Media postgraduates doing practice-led research in Australia: The Creative Degree as Interface. This year I was commissioned to interview New Media educators who are new media artists teaching new media art. The article The University: New Home for New Media, (which I had as A New Home for New Media?), is now on the street and online.

Blast Theory’s CYSMN in Banff

Welcome to CAN YOU SEE ME NOW?

You can play on the virtual streets of Banff, Canada with Blast Theory runners on the real streets in pursuit.

Can You See Me Now? is a chase game played live online and in the streets. Online players are dropped at random locations into a virtual map of Banff. Blast Theory runners search for you in the very real streets using GPS, tracking your avatar down as you flee online.

Can You See Me Now? won the Golden Nica for Interactive Art at the
2003 Prix Ars Electronica, is a collaboration with the Mixed Reality Lab, University of Nottingham, and is supported by the Arts Council of England.

Game times are August 11, 12, 13, 14 from
12 – 2 p.m. and
